I don\u2019t claim to be an expert on email deliverability and spam. \u00a0But I know a tiny bit. \u00a0We send well over 1,000,000 emails a week in our SaaStr newsletter. \u00a0And when I used to run Adobe Sign \/ EchoSign, I spent a huge amount of time worrying about deliverability. \u00a0E-signatures, after all, are primarily an e-mail driven exchange. \u00a0Even the tiniest issues in deliverability, we would hear about it \u2014 fast.<\/p>\n

And I wonder, and am worried, about the AI SDR. \u00a0Because I don\u2019t about you, but I am fine Blocking them. \u00a0And even sometimes, Reporting to Spam. \u00a0And I\u2019d almost never do that to a human being.<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t claim to be a social media expert, either. \u00a0But again, we have over 1,000,000 social media followers. \u00a0And one thing is clear \u2014 folks are reluctant to \u201cBlock\u201d a human. \u00a0It crosses lines. \u00a0It creates ill-will, and folks lash out. \u00a0And notice. \u00a0Folks really notice when they are blocked.<\/p>\n

But the AI?<\/p>\n

It\u2019s not even a person. \u00a0They don\u2019t care.<\/p>\n

And even more so, I almost never actually asked<\/em> for an AI SDR email. \u00a0Most of them seem to be me being dumped into a list I didn\u2019t ask to join.<\/h3>\n

So if I didn\u2019t even ask for an AI SDR email? \u00a0The easiest thing to do is Block.<\/p>\n

Today, I block multiple AI SDR emails a week. \u00a0Before 2025? \u00a0I don\u2019t think I ever blocked a human-driven SDR. \u00a0Even if it was a cadence, at least I could see it was from a human.\u00a0 I’d ignore it, but block seemed … aggro.\u00a0 Too much.\u00a0 But now, I block ’em all.<\/p>\n

We\u2019ll see how this all gets resolved.<\/p>\n

At a minimum, there\u2019s no way I would send AI SDR emails from my own domain.<\/p>\n
